I retired from paid work in 2014 and I am now able to spend a lot more time on my life-long passion for painting. One of the things I love about painting is that it has made me sharpen the way I observe the world around me, in terms of colour, light and shade, texture and shapes.

 

I particularly enjoy painting what I call "Cities Reimagined" in which I create a picture that attempts to capture the soul of a place. I start by assembling images of the most iconic buildings and scenes of a place. I enlarge, reduce, shuffle and shake them until I have an enjoyable collage that I can use as the basis for a composite (and quite quirky) painting.
